BACK to Terlingua energy efficient homes

The West is backfilled with local dirt over rock wall 6 feet

This South wall of adobe block has a retaining wall enclosing a patio, insuring nice warm winter days, and cooler summer days. The western wall (left side of picture) is backfilled about 6 feet with dirt.

In the back of the home, the solar panels on a tracker provide the power to the house. Another set of panels supply power to the water pump at the well.
