Austin, Texas in 1992

Big City memories!   Three blocks from the Texas Capitol Building, Wunderlich Gallery was in one of the oldest buildings on Congress Avenue, the historical Steiner Building, at 807 Congress Ave.   The gallery extended from the sidewalk to the alley.   Lots of good art from Austin's art community showed here, including Everett Spruce, William Lester, Fidencio Duran (painting pictured), LuAnn Barrow, Terrence Grieder, Phillip Wade, and many others including Bonnie Wunderlich.    The  807 CONGRESS AVENUE building has since been remoddled and restored from the inside out (no longer the crude stucco walls or the old wooden floor), and though I've not seen it, I have heard that the new owner received architectural awards and was featured in major magazines.
